The new Antiques Emporium opened in Ampthill in November 1998 and was immediately well received by collectors and trade alike, who made it a very busy ‘~ for the foi dealers. The Emporium has very quickly made a name for itself and
is recognised as a source of fine furniture in showroom condition, good silver, a fine selection of wall, mantel and longcase clocks, as well as fine late 18th and 19th porcelain, art pottery and glass. Other services include a resident interior design consultant, a traditional upholsterer, a metal polishing service, garden statuary and a comprehensive range of restoration materials. After strolling round the ten thousand square feet of displays, you may wish to relax in the comfort of our basement tearoom, where a satisfyingly wide range of snacks are available.

Ampthill is home to a number of Antiques and Clock shops, including Pilgrim Antiques Centre, Transatlantic Antiques, S & .1 Timms Antiques, The Clock Shop, etc. These and the nearby Woburn Antiques Centre makes this corner of Bedfordshire a particularly profitable and interesting call for discerning collectors and dealers.

Introduction and description

Weissue this Booklet to introduce our various Departments which have recently been re-arranged and greatly extended, as owing to our growing trade, more space had become a paramount necessity.

By the addition of the adjoining house in the Market Place, we have been enabled to double the size of our Shop, Showrooms and Workrooms, and the increased space gained enables us to shew to greater advantage our large Stocks and the many Novelties arriving daily.

From the photographic views given herewith some idea may be formed of the handsome new polished mahogany front, and plate glass windows just completed, while other illustrations depict our various Showrooms and Departments. The new main staircase, with its easy ascent and artistic stained glass and leaded windows, although not shown here, is found by our many customers to be a vast improvement
.
The Manchester and Linen Department on the ground floor is much enlarged, and we are able to make a far larger display of these goods of which the quality is right, style right, price right. We also hold a large stock of these goods, together with Blankets in the basement.

At the North end of the shop a magnificent light is obtained which is so essential to the correct matching of colours and here, as it should be, our Dress and Silk Department is situated.

The new glass showcases and counters assist in making a most attractive display of Laces, Ribbons, Hosiery and Fancy Goods of every kind.

The Showrooms situated on the first floor are devoted to Mantles, Underclothing, and Millinery respectively.

1
In the Mantle Room hundreds of the latest novelties in these garments, Costumes and Blouses may be found to
select from, and were coloured photography an accomplished fact, the view given of the Millinery Section woold
exhibit all the latest colours and tints in Flowers, Feathers, Hats, &c., &c.
The Ladies’ and Children’s Underclothing and Corset Showroom will be found at the top of the main stairs,
